Dolby Atmos
3D Immersive Audio
When I first discovered Dolby Atmos, it was like finding the technology I’d been waiting nearly 30 years for. The possibilities were thrilling, but the learning curve was intense. I quickly realized that running Dolby Atmos seamlessly within an audio development program would require a major shift—from Ableton Live to Nuendo—since Nuendo fully supports Dolby Atmos, even down to the precise editing of spatial metadata.
Next came the investment in building a professional 7.1.2 Atmos studio. This wasn’t just about adding speakers; I had to completely overhaul my audio hardware, diving into everything from room acoustics to speaker calibration. And as if the setup wasn’t enough of a learning curve, I soon faced the challenges of publishing and distributing Dolby Atmos content, navigating a sea of new processes and standards.
Now, I’ve built a stunning studio that produces immersive audio with breathtaking depth and clarity. My goal is to share what I’ve learned with you—so if you’re on a similar journey, I hope my experiences can smooth your path.
